The Dane County Sheriffs Office reported a motorcyclist and his passenger were injured Wednesday after they crashed into the side of a car attempting a U-turn.
According to police, Jonathon Roach, 17, pulled his Chevy Impala to the side of Stagecoach Road to make a U-turn. Meanwhile, David Rooney, 24, and Danielle Mergen, 25, were eastbound on Stagecoach Road.
Believing he had enough time to complete the turn, he proceeded. Instead, the motorcycle crashed into the side of the car.
Rooney and Mergen, both wearing helmets, were taken to UW Hospital. Roach was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
