Posted by PKSD Law Firm on Feb 09, 2009 in Foodborne Illness

A Wisconsin-based alfalfa grower has removed its product from store shelves in Minnesota and Wisconsin after their product tested positive for salmonella. Routine food safety test turned up positive on a package of Jack & The Green Sprouts alfalfa sprouts.

Jack & The Green Sprouts, Inc. is located in River Falls, WI and is in the midst of recalling the alfalfa sprouts and alfalfa onion sprout mix. The products were sold in 5-ounce clamshell packages.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection advises consumers to discard the products in question if they were purchased prior to Feb. 5. Consumers will receive a credit with proof of purchase receipt.
