A 54-year-old La Crosse woman was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries after a car collided with a truck at 16th and Denton streets at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
The force of the collision pushed the car into a city bus shelter and finally into the front steps of a house at the southeast corner of the intersection. The house itself was not damaged. The truck driver refused medical treatment.
A La Crosse Fire Department crew extricated the woman from her car with hydraulic tools and a Sawzall saw, according to the fire department. Details about the accident were not available Sunday night.
