She is facing two felony charges, one for two misdemeanor drug incidents in January and another for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and theft.
One of the misdemeanor charges is for giving a patient two unscheduled doses of oxycodone to treat the patient’s shoulder pain. However, other nurses later discovered the patient had not reported any considerable pain for several days.
The nurse was also charged for lying about how much morphine she provided a patient. The criminal complaint said the nurse drew 1.2 milliliters more of the drug than what she reported she gave the patient.
Police conducted a search of the nurse’s home in January and found two missing bottles of oxycodone pills that belonged to a resident who was transferring to the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
If convicted, the maximum penalty for these offenses is a prison sentence of six years.
