Interstate 41/Highway 45 and Capitol Drive in Wauwatosa

This intersection was listed as the most dangerous one in the Journal Sentinel report. This intersection was responsible for 218 accidents between 2012 and 2016, resulting in 87 injuries.

Silver Spring Drive and Port Washington Road by Bayshore Town Center

This intersection was sixth on the list. The large number of vehicles in this area is the main reason why there are so many accidents at this intersection. The close proximity of the Bayshore Mall also adds traffic. Distracted driving in this heavily congested area may also be partially to blame for this intersection being considered so dangerous.

Interstate 94 and Highway 82 in Delafield

This intersection is also a source of multiple converging roadways, including Golf Road, Heritage Drive and Hillside Drive. Additionally, two I-94 off-ramps converge on the road. Some accidents occur when drivers get off these ramps and are trying to turn right. Red-light-running also accounts for some of the accidents at this intersection.

West Greenfield Avenue and Moorland Road near Brookfield and New Berlin

This intersection was the busiest one on the list. Every day, 62,200 motorists use the roadway. It was number four on the list and was the site of a pedestrian fatality in 2006. Improvements have been made over the years, but there is no more space to add to the area.
