On Monday, June 20, a 16-year-old Watertown woman suffered life-threatening injuries after her vehicle crashed into a bridge pillar on Welsh Road.
The accident remains under investigation, but according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office the woman was driving south on Welsh Road when her vehicle slid while entering a curve and spun in a clockwise direction before striking a bridge pillar.
The woman was alone in the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries. She was flown by a Flight for Life helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The young driver died from her injuries two days later while still in the hospital.
Just after 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, two men suffered serious injuries after striking an embankment in the town of Hustisford. A 34-year-old man from Watertown and a 33-year-old man from Juneau were airlifted by Flight for Life to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to preliminary investigations by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the two men were traveling south on St. Helena Road. When the vehicle entered a curve in the road, it went off the road and struck an embankment before striking a tree and then overturning. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
