Former nursing home director Laura Entsminger has been charged for allegedly taking drugs from an assisted living resident in Davenport, Iowa.
According to a news report, there is an affidavit filed in Scott County Court against the 49-year-old former director of Oakwood Place Assisted Living Facility. An investigator for the State of Iowa Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, who signed the affidavit, states that the alleged theft took place between July 15, 2022 and August 8, 2022. Entsminger was still employed as Director of Oakwood Place during those dates.
The allegations, according to the affidavit, state that Entsminger took or tried to take the prescription drugs from a resident at the facility by means of “fraud, deceit, misrepresentation or subterfuge.”
The investigator alleges in the affidavit that Entsminger stole 27 Hydrocodone pills during her employment.
The suspect was arrested on a warrant, but later released on a $10,000 bond. According to a financial statement she signed on Tuesday, she is currently employed by Good Samaritan. Entsminger is scheduled to appear on December 6 in Scott County Court.
