According to Rusk County officials, Angela Dixon, a registered nurse, admitted that she has been stealing medicine for personal use from patients at Ladysmith Nursing Home. For three months, she admits replacing prescribed medications with water pills or over the counter drugs.
Arrested Tuesday, Dixon is anticipated to be charged with several felonies. However, as of Thursday, she had not been criminally charged. Felony charges may include narcotic drug possession, theft, abuse and neglect of patients and residents.

According to court records, after mounting concerns that patients were not receiving their prescriptions, Ladysmith officials notified the police about the potential narcotics theft.
Dixon, a night nurse, had access to patients medications. Footage of Dixon revealed suspicious activity from Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Dixon said she took oxycodone tablets from nursing home patients pill containers and replaced them with water pills and anti-nausea medicines. She told police she also stole Vicodin and tramadol, pain relievers, for three months because she has a pain medication addiction.
Seven tramadol tablets, a broken tab for a nursing home residents pill container and a bottle of melatonin were found by police in Dixons purse and car.
