A 66-year-old man from Green Bay has been charged with four felonies relating to two incidents on July 7 in which he assaulted an elderly resident in a Sheboygan nursing home where he worked.
A coworker assigned to a floor for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s says she saw the man use violence to get the patient to return to his room, which included punching the patient in the chest. The man then pushed the wheel-chaired patient back into his room. When the coworker found the patient, she claimed that the wheelchair was tipped over with the patient sprawled on the floor.
However, this is not the man’s first violent incident at the Sheboygan nursing home. He was seen ramming a wheelchair into the same patient’s legs. When the patient attempted to enter another patient’s room, he was seen dragging the patient on the floor by his shirt.
The same coworker said that she had reported the man about 20 times in the past. She reported him to the nursing home administration for negligence including an instance when he neglected to give medication to dying patients. A cash bond has currently been set and a preliminary hearing has been arranged for July 17.
