A tragic case of alleged elder abuse last year that left one resident dead at StoryPoint Senior Living in Mequon, Wisconsin has become a criminal case. Abrianna Clark, a Milwaukee woman who was an employee at the facility, has been charged with reckless second-degree homicide in the death of the 76-year-old woman.
The resident was allegedly pushed to the ground on November 7, 2024, causing her to suffer a broken hip. She died just 10 weeks after the original injury, on January 27, 2025. An autopsy confirmed her death was directly linked to complications from the hip fracture. In addition to the charges against her, the court has ordered Clark to pay a $12,500 bail fee. She has also been ordered to have no contact with the facility and is prohibited from working with the elderly in the future.
The Unfortunate Impact of Physical Abuse in Care Facilities

Physical abuse in nursing homes and senior living facilities causes immeasurable harm to vulnerable elderly residents. These situations often result in serious injuries, mental trauma, and, in severe cases like this one, death. Such abuse typically stems from a lack of staff training, high stress levels, understaffing, or personal frustration that caregivers inappropriately direct toward residents.
TMJ4’s coverage of this case reveals several concerning patterns of abuse. Clark allegedly made threats against potential witnesses, saying, “If anybody snitch on me, I’m going to get on that,” showing a deliberate attempt to cover up the abuse.
Clark claimed the resident had hit her with a ruler and cursed at her, suggesting the incident may have escalated from a conflict. However, the alleged actions of the resident does not justify physical retaliation against a vulnerable elderly person. The fact that the facility initially reported this as a “fall” before discovering the true circumstances also highlights how abuse in nursing homes is often concealed or misreported.
