The results are in from a Milwaukee County Sheriffs initiative to keep the public safe from impaired drivers over the New Years holiday weekend. Fourteen first offenders and one repeat offender were arrested.
David Clarke, Milwaukee County Sheriff, mandated additional law enforcement patrols from December 31, 2015 to January 3, 2016 to be out in force protecting Milwaukee citizens from drivers under the influence of alcohol.
From Thursday at 2 p.m. to Sunday at 6 a.m., the following citations, arrests and calls for service came into the Sheriffs Office:
Fortunately, there were no fatal accidents over the holiday weekend.
Eight of the above drunk driving arrests were on the holiday, with the first driver being arrested at 1 a.m. on Friday.
