A 14-year-old girl was driving under the influence of alcohol when she crashed a pickup truck, causing the death of one teen and injuries to another.

Hanna Yager of Clayton was operating a 2001 Ford pickup truck near Turtle Lake when she lost control, went up an embankment and rolled the truck. All three individuals were ejected from the pickup truck.

Rhonda Hellstern, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene and Danielle Nordquist, 17, was injured. Nordquist and Yager were taken to a local hospital and are listed in stable condition.

The Barron County Sheriffs Department believes the girls were not wearing seat belts and that speed and alcohol factored in the crash.
