About Luke D. Mayefske
Attorney Luke D. Mayefske was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and grew up in nearby Appleton, Wisconsin. Luke attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his Bachelor of Science with a double major in Legal Studies and Political Science in December 2007. He went on to earn his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law in May 2011. Upon graduation from law school, Luke passed the Wisconsin Bar Exam, and became admitted to practice law in September 2011.
Luke has a broad range of judicial as well as state and federal government experience prior to joining the PKSD law firm. Luke worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of General Counsel in Washington, D.C. In that role, Luke worked with federal government attorneys to promulgate legal advice and engage in litigation relating to veterans’ issues. Luke also worked for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Consumer Protection Unit in Madison, Wisconsin, where he collaborated with state government attorneys from agencies such as DFI and DATCP to file lawsuits on behalf of injured Wisconsin consumers. He also served as a law clerk for multiple district court judges in the Outagamie County and Brown County Circuit Courts.
Immediately prior to joining the PKSD law firm, Luke worked for a general practice firm in the northern Milwaukee area, primarily handling personal injury and worker’s compensation cases.
Luke has been with the PKSD family since January 2014 and specializes in personal injury cases including motor vehicle collisions, dog attacks, slip and falls, and premise liability cases from the claim phase through trial.
Luke is an avid CrossFitter and enjoys watching and playing sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

- Unexpected First Job: Before practicing law, I worked as the personal chauffeur for the Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin. A role that taught me patience, professionalism, and the value of earning trust.
- Weekend Routine: You’ll usually find me starting my mornings early, hitting a CrossFit workout, and spending Sundays at church.
- Record-Breaking Fitness Feat: My best CrossFit MURPH time is 38:53. I also completed a grueling 8-hour endurance challenge, logging 97,500 meters across rowing, biking, and running – with no breaks.
- Signature Style: I’m known around the office for my collection of fun socks – it’s a small but daily reminder to not take life too seriously.
