A caretaker at Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia has been accused of abusing, neglecting and insulting a resident with racially-charged language in what local police and social services are referring to as an active investigation.

The family claims their loved one Perry Randle was physically and verbally abused while she was a patient at Waverly. Randles sister, Diane Walker, claims that the family has found bruises and that Randle herself seems lethargic and overmedicated.

If your loved one was abused or neglected in a nursing home contact a Milwaukee nursing home abuse lawyer today for a free consultation.

Starr Pierre, Randles daughter, alleges that one of the caretakers even told Randle, Ill slap the black off you, if she continued to talk during a specific incident.

Randle suffers from a muscular degeneration that claimed the lives of several close family members; Walker says she only wants a place for her sister to feel safe.

Sussex County Social Services and Waverly police are working together to investigate the incident.

Pitman, Kalkhoff, Sicula & Dentice will continue to monitor the status of this case.
